JCRC's own Dr. George Abongomera Graduates with a Degree of Doctor in Medical Sciences

Dr. George Abongomera is a physician and researcher based at the Joint Clinical Research Centre, currently working as deputy chief of party for the USAID funded Thalas Project and co-principal investigator for Ampho-B Study.

He has worked as project coordinator on a few projects in Africa. He has also worked as a co-principal investigator on a number of multi-country clinical trials which have contributed to changes in HIV policy guidelines in both in Africa and internationally.

He was awarded Doctor in Medical Sciences (PhD) at the University of Antwerp, Belgium on the 21st April 2017. He conducted his studies in Malawi, Zambia and Uganda focusing on scaling up antiretroviral therapy services in resource limited settings.
